Couples & Relationship Therapy
What is couples/relationship therapy?
Couples/Relationship therapy is a type of partnered therapy that addresses relational distress, as well as sexual concerns, in an affirming space. Although the process can be daunting, I’m here to support you in healing your relationship and finding your way back to a secure emotional connection. Whether you want to stay together or move towards separation, I will provide compassion and guidance as you make an informed decision for yourselves about how to proceed.
You may benefit from couples/relationship therapy if you:
Feel stuck in recurring arguments
Struggle to communicate effectively during conflict
Feel disconnected or emotionally distant
Want to strengthen trust and intimacy
Are navigating a rupture in the relationship
Are experiencing challenges related to sex or physical intimacy
Have difficulty discussing needs, boundaries, or expectations
Are considering opening a relationship or exploring non-monogamy
Are trying to determine whether your current relationship structure aligns with your values
Are navigating life transitions such as cohabitation, marriage, parenthood, illness, career changes, or caregiving responsibilities
Want support deepening an already healthy relationship
What does couples/relationship therapy look like?
Couples/Relationship therapy begins with:
One joint intake session
One individual session with each partner
Ongoing joint sessions
In our work together, you can expect:
Exploration of relationship patterns and cycles
Improved communication and conflict navigation
Increased awareness of emotional triggers and attachment needs
Support identifying and expressing needs, wants, and boundaries
Conversations about intimacy, sexuality, and connection
Opportunities to practice new ways of relating both in and outside of session
Is couples/relationship therapy only for couples (two people)?
Not at all! I provide individual sex therapy as well as partnered sex and relationship therapy for partners in all kinds of relationship structures. This includes, but is not limited to, couples, polyamorous constellations, and other consensual partnerships.
Do all partners need to attend every session?
Most ongoing sessions are attended together, though individual sessions may occasionally be incorporated when clinically appropriate.
Can we attend therapy if we're not sure whether we want to stay together?
Yes. Relationship therapy can help partners gain clarity about their needs, values, and goals, whether the goal is strengthening the relationship, restructuring it, or determining next steps.
Will you take sides?
My role is not to determine who is right or wrong. My goal is to understand the relationship system, support each person's experience, and help create opportunities for greater understanding, accountability, and connection.
What is your rate?
$225/50-minute session. I offer a limited amount of sliding scale spots to those in financial need. If you are interested in sliding scale, please reach out to inquire about current availability.
