Adult ADHD Assessment

  • You might notice yourself losing track of things, struggling to remember important details, or starting projects that don’t quite get finished. You may find it hard to sit still, feel restless or fidgety, or speak impulsively before fully thinking things through. Over time, these experiences can begin to affect your work or school performance, as well as your relationships with others.

There are likely many reasons why you may find yourself googling “ADHD symptoms” or taking generalized screeners online. So, why pursue an official evaluation? Clients often benefit from a therapeutic assessment when they are seeking more self-understanding, they are looking for formal accommodations at work or school, or they would like access to services that wouldn’t otherwise be available to them (e.g., medication management through a medical provider). If this sounds like you, you’re in the right place.

  • A comprehensive and collaborative evaluation conducted by a licensed psychologist. I integrate validated assessment tools and information from multiple sources into a detailed report that provides a clear, well-supported understanding of…

It paves the way for a more accurate and compassionate understanding of self from a neurodivergent-affirming lens.

  • A therapeutic assessment differs from a neuropsychological assessment in that it is more collaborative, focused, and oriented toward meaning-making and treatment. Rather than primarily emphasizing extensive cognitive testing across multiple domains, it integrates clinical interviews, validated measures, and lived experience to understand your concerns in context.

If I determine that a full neuropsychological assessment is necessary, I will provide you with referrals. Typically, a neuropsychological assessment occurs when there are complex co-morbid conditions that make assessing for ADHD challenging. Common reasons for referral include the presence of a possible learning disability, a traumatic brain injury, or memory difficulties, among others.

  • To begin, we will start with a free 15-minute consultation call to determine your needs and to ensure that a therapeutic assessment is the right approach for you.

The first appointment is typically scheduled within a week or two of your consultation call. It lasts approximately 90 minutes and consists of a semi-structured clinical interview.

Between the first appointment and the second appointment, you will be sent a number of validated self-report measures. This will also include observer ratings in which someone who knows you well will rate your functioning from their perspective. I will also screen for differential and co-occurring conditions.

Once all information is gathered, I will synthesize the results using professional clinical judgment and age-normed benchmarks to guide interpretation.

I’ll review all findings with you in detail so everything feels clear and understandable. At the end of the evaluation, you’ll receive a comprehensive written report along with personalized next steps to support you moving forward.

  • An evaluation does not guarantee an ADHD diagnosis. I also assess for differential and co-occurring conditions that may be contributing to your experience. Regardless of diagnosis, you’ll leave with greater clarity and a deeper understanding of yourself.

  • I offer a significantly discounted price to help make assessment more accessible to you. The cost of a multi-session therapeutic ADHD assessment is $850. Services are self-pay only and payment is due at the time of the appointment. There is an option to split the cost into two payments (one at each appointment).
