I do not accept insurance.
While many clients find sex and relationship therapy deeply valuable and transformative, these services are typically not covered by insurance. Here's why:
Insurance companies require a medically necessary mental health diagnosis in order to authorize reimbursement. Because sex and relationship therapy primarily focuses on relational dynamics, communication, and sexual health—rather than treating a specific mental health condition—they are considered “non-covered services” under most plans.
Even if one partner has a diagnosis, the client and focus of treatment is the relationship, not the individual’s mental health. For this reason, I do not provide diagnosis, utilize CPT codes, or bill insurance for these services, and they are not eligible for out-of-network reimbursement.
If you have questions or would like a referral to an in-network provider, I’m happy to help.
-
Due to federal and state regulations, I am unable to accept self-pay clients who are enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid (including Oregon Health Plan and Apple Health), even for services that are not typically covered—such as couples/relationship therapy or sex therapy.
If you are currently enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid:I cannot legally accept private payment for services, even if you choose not to use your insurance.
These rules are in place to protect beneficiaries and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
If you are a Medicare or Medicaid beneficiary and are interested in services I provide, I would be happy to help refer you to a provider within your insurance network. -
Unfortunately, as sex therapy and relationship therapy are not considered to be “medically necessary” and because I do not provide a diagnosis or use CPT codes, your FSA/HSA often cannot be used. Please check with your FSA/HSA provider directly.

I offer a limited amount of sliding scale spots for clients in need of financial assistance. Please know that you are making it possible for others to access services when my full rate is within your means.

As a self-pay client, you have the right to request a “Good Faith Estimate.” This is an estimate of expected cost for services provided either before scheduling your first session or one business day before your scheduled session.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises
